Teacher's Guides

Guides to facilitate classroom engagement for Fitzhenry & Whiteside children’s books

Many of the children’s titles in the Fitzhenry & Whiteside collection are school classroom and curriculum books, and as such offer teacher’s guides to plan educational activities that will encourage students to get excited about the material.

Many of our Teacher's Guides are available for free as downloadable pdf files or MS Word documents.

Additional teaching resources

Jamie Bastedo, the author of On Thin Ice, in conjunction with Red Deer Press, has set up a Teacher’s Guide website for On Thin Ice: Polar Bears in a Climate of Change. The purpose of this teacher's guide is to help bring the fast changing Arctic world closer to the hearts and minds of young people everywhere.

Several authors have also set up teacher's guides for their books on their web sites. Click here to see a listing of those books.
